Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

EasyGIF is a free, browser-based GIF maker. This policy explains what happens to your files (nothing leaves your device), what limited data our website and its service providers do receive, how advertising cookies are used, and the choices you have. It applies to easygif.app and all of its pages.

The short version: the images and videos you use are never uploaded. GIFs are made on your own device. Like most free websites, we show ads through Google AdSense, and Google and its partners may use cookies to do that, subject to your consent where the law requires it.

Your files are never uploaded

When you drop, paste, or select an image, GIF, or video, your browser reads the file from your own device. Splitting animations into frames, reading frames from a video, drawing text, cropping, rotating, and encoding the final GIF all run locally in your browser, using the Canvas API and a background worker thread. There is no upload endpoint for files on our servers, and the tool does not send pixels, thumbnails, file names, captions, or metadata to us or to any third party, including our advertising and hosting providers.

Because nothing is uploaded, we have nothing to store, retain, delete, or use for training. When you close or reload the tab, your frames are gone unless you downloaded the GIF. You can check this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and watch it while you make a GIF. No request carries your files.

Information our website receives

EasyGIF has no accounts, sign-ups, or payments, so we never ask for your name, email, or other profile details to use the tool. The information that does reach us or our providers is limited to:

  • Server and CDN logs. Our hosting and content-delivery providers automatically record standard technical data for each request, such as IP address, the page or file requested, date and time, referrer, and user agent. These logs are used to deliver the site, keep it secure, and diagnose errors, and are kept for a limited period set by the provider.
  • Emails you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply to you and keep the conversation for as long as needed to help you.
  • Usage statistics from Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, roughly where they come from (country and referring site), and what kind of device and browser they use. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives your IP address, which it uses to estimate location and does not log or store. We see only aggregated reports, never individual visitors, and we never send images, videos, file names, or captions to Google Analytics. Where consent is required, Google's consent message controls whether analytics cookies are set. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Advertising data collected by Google. Described in the next section.

Advertising and third-party cookies

EasyGIF is free because it shows ads served by Google AdSense. Advertising code from Google runs on our pages, and our code never passes your files or anything you type into the tool to it. When it is allowed to, the advertising technology uses cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and similar identifiers to deliver, measure, and limit how often ads are shown.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our visitors based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google may also serve ads on this site, and may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information for ad measurement and personalization. A list of the partners Google works with is shown in the consent message and in Google's list of ad technology providers.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of some other vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
  • To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Google's advertising policies.

If you opt out of personalized ads, or decline consent, you may still see ads, but they are non-personalized or limited ads based on context such as the page you are reading, your general location (derived from your IP address at the country or city level), and the time of day.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a consent message from Google's certified consent management platform (Google Privacy & messaging, which supports the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework) is shown before advertising cookies are used for personalized ads. You can accept, reject, or manage choices by purpose and by vendor. If you do not consent, Google only serves non-personalized or limited ads, which still use cookies or local storage for things like frequency capping, fraud prevention, and aggregated reporting where the law allows.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the Privacy choices link in the footer of every page.

Your choices and rights

  • Ad personalization: use the Privacy choices link in the footer, Google Ads Settings, or the industry opt-out pages above.
  • Browser controls: block third-party cookies, clear site data, or use your browser's privacy features.
  • US state privacy laws: residents of California and some other US states have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, including for targeted advertising. The only personal information associated with ads here is collected by Google through the cookies described above; use the Privacy choices link or Google Ads Settings to opt out. We do not sell personal information we collect directly.
  • GDPR and UK GDPR: if you are in the EEA or UK, you can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you (in practice, only emails you sent us), and you can complain to your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for personalized ads is your consent; for replying to emails it is our legitimate interest in responding to you.

To exercise any of these rights for data we hold, email contact@easygif.app. We aim to reply within 30 days.

Children's privacy

EasyGIF is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Data security and international transfers

Because your files never leave your device, the most sensitive data you work with is never exposed to our infrastructure. The website is served over HTTPS. Our hosting, CDN, email, and advertising providers may process the limited technical data described above in the United States and other countries, under their own safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, for example if we change analytics or advertising providers, and we will change the date below.
