Terms of Service

Last updated: October 6, 2026

These terms govern your use of easygif.app and the GIF maker on it (together, "the Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

The Service

EasyGIF provides a free tool that makes and edits animated GIFs. The processing happens in your web browser, on your own device. We do not receive or store the images, GIFs, or videos you use. The Service is provided free of charge and is funded by advertising, as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance or permanently. Because the tool runs on your device, their speed and the number and size of frames you can use depend on your hardware and browser.

Your files and your rights

You keep all rights to the files you use and to the GIFs you download. We claim no ownership of them, add no watermark, and place no license restrictions on how you use the output, including commercial use.

Because you supply the files, you are responsible for having the right to use and edit them. Do not use the Service to process images or videos you do not have permission to use, or to create content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to create or distribute content that is illegal, deceptive, defamatory, harassing, or sexually exploitative, or that depicts minors in a sexual or harmful way.
  • Interfere with the website, attempt to access systems you are not authorized to access, overload it with automated requests, or attempt to circumvent security measures.
  • Click on ads on the site with the intent of inflating ad revenue, or encourage others to do so.

Advertising and third-party services

The Service displays ads served by Google AdSense and may link to third-party websites. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, products, or privacy practices. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their own terms.

Open-source components

The Service uses open-source software, including gifenc (MIT License) to encode GIFs and gifuct-js (MIT License) to read them. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licenses.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. GIFs are limited to 256 colors per frame, so the output can differ from the source, and you should review every result before relying on it. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available in every browser.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EasyGIF and the person who operates it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to zero, or the lowest amount allowed by applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you in full.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
